Educational Requirements for the Position
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or communications with at least two years’ experience in relationship management, social media, communications, or a related field. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills are required. A writing sample will need to be provided. Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). An ideal candidate would possess experience with technologies such as Access, Adobe, Creative Suite, and Blackbaud, or another non-profit suite of products. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.Nature & Purpose of Position
The Donor Relations Coordinator works closely with the Assistant Vice President of Development in the development and implementation of a donor relations plan that will support the philanthropic team in their efforts to enhance and deepen donor relationships with Sam Houston State University. The scope of work includes donor relations, social media, stewardship strategies, and related communications for the Division of University Advancement (Development, Alumni & Annual Giving, Advancement Services and The Museum).
